Medical Center Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan is 25 years old!

The history of the Medical Center Hospital dates back to December 29, 1997, when the capital was transferred to Astana. Over the years, the Hospital has provided medical services to thousands of Kazakhstanis from all regions of the country.

Since 2018, Laboratory for Personalized Genomic Diagnostics has been functioning here, and the Kazakhstan International Reference and Training Center for Robotic Surgery was opened. In 2021, a new Check-Up Department was opened, designed according to modern international standards. In 2021, the Hospital was also awarded with the highest category. The Hospital’s pharmacy was certified for compliance with Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) for drugs and medical devices.

This year, new facilities were opened at the Hospital - the Nuclear Medicine Center and the Treatment and Diagnostic Block. Another important moment - on the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the first radiopharmaceutical for PET/CT examination of oncology patients was produced in the cyclotron-production complex. It is worth noting the significance of the contribution of the unique facilities being commissioned in strengthening health and making the latest medical technologies more accessible to the people of Kazakhstan.

New techniques, modern technologies, the best team of doctors and treatment according to international standards allowed the Medical Center Hospital to become a leader in healthcare. In 2022, in order to expand high-tech medical care, 20 new diagnostic and treatment technologies (14 therapeutic, 6 diagnostic) were introduced into the practice of the Medical Center Hospital. Using these technologies, 119 people received treatment and 1,869 patients were diagnosed.

Today, the Medical Center Hospital is a modern multidisciplinary medical institution for providing medical care to citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the guaranteed volume of free medical care, compulsory social health insurance, on a paid and contractual basis. Over the last 10 years, the Hospital has performed more than 50,000 operations and treated more than 100,000 patients.

A tremendous amount of work has been done, but much work remains to be done to achieve a high level of health promotion and further improvement of medical services using advanced methods of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.
