Samsung Medical Center was founded on November 9, 1994 with the philosophy of “contribution to improving the health of the nation through the best medical care, advanced medical research and technology, and contributing to the development of outstanding medical personnel”.
Since its establishment, Samsung Medical Center has successfully combined and developed the advanced model with the motto of “Patient Centered Hospital”, which has become a new concept in Korea.
Equipped with advanced medical care infrastructure, including outstanding medical staff, Communication System (OCS), Photo Archiving Communication System (PACS), Clinical Pathology Automated System and Logistics Automation System, Samsung Medical Center is the center that defines a new culture of clinic in Korea.
The clinic includes 5 buildings: the main building, an additional building, an oncology center, a proton therapy center and a research institute for future medicine, with a total area of more than 353 thousand square meters. m. Bed capacity of the clinic is 1989 beds, 56 operating rooms, 188 beds in the intensive care unit. The staff includes: doctors - 1309, nurses - 2421, researchers - 171 and administrative personnel - 2800 people.
More than 9,000 patients receive outpatient treatment every day, 1,800 people receive in-patient care, and 196 patients receive surgical treatment*.
Over the past 20 years, Samsung Medical Center has ranked #1 on the Consumer Satisfaction Index (NCSI) 14 times. Ranked 1st in the ranking of the most influential brands among hospitals in the Republic of Korea and 16th in the overall ranking, which includes all enterprises and organizations in the Republic of Korea.
