Surgery Department No. 6 (neurosurgery)

About the Department

The Department is located in Block A2 on the 5^th floor and has 25 beds. The doctors of the department perform all kinds of planned and emergency operations for diseases and injuries of the brain and spinal cord, for degenerative and traumatic lesions of the spine. More than 90% of all surgical interventions are performed on a free-of-charge basis: through the Unified Hospitalization Portal of Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

“Epilepsy Center” and “Movement Disorders Treatment Center” operate at the Department, where multidisciplinary team carries out diagnosis and surgical treatment of epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, tremor and dystonia.

Implantation of a vagus stimulation system;
Nontemporal resections;
Invasive EEG;
Stereotactic interventions;
Microsurgical tumor removal with neuronavigation, neuromonitoring, and neuroendoscopy systems;
Endovascular embolization of the tumor;
Hybrid operations.
