Medical Center Hospital of the PAA RK Participated in a Major International Tourism Exhibition in Berlin

Medical Center Hospital of the PAA RK took part in one of the world’s largest international tourism exhibitions — ITB Berlin 2026, held in Berlin. As part of the Astana delegation, the hospital was presented as a modern multidisciplinary medical center with Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation and advanced high-tech medical equipment.

Representing the hospital in the Medical & Health Tourism section were Berik Kaikenov, Head of the Surgery Unit, and Aizhan Sarsenbayeva, Head of the Internal Medicine Unit. During the visit, they exchanged experience in the fields of medical tourism and hospital service, expanded their professional knowledge, and establshed new professional contacts.

The exhibition brings together thousands of participants and tens of thousands of tourism industry professionals from more than 170 countries. Today, ITB Berlin is considered one of the largest international platforms in the global tourism industry. Over nearly 60 years, it has become an important business venue for building partnerships and discussing key trends in tourism development.

Astana’s first participation in ITB Berlin as a medical destination marked an important step in strengthening the city’s international image. The participation of the Hospital at one of the world’s largest tourism platforms also demonstrates the strong potential of Kazakhstan’s healthcare system and opens new opportunities for the development of international cooperation and the attraction of foreign patients.
