The Presidential Hospital has received a patent of the Russian Federation for the development of a unique operation

To eliminate the consequence – it is for this purpose that a unique method of treating oncological diseases is designed. When removing tumors in the head and neck, damage to the facial nerve is inevitable. The method of surgical correction of the consequences of facial nerve damage after surgery will help improve the quality of patients’ life.

“First of all, we have to save the patient’s life. Unfortunately, after surgery on removal of a tumor in the head and neck, damage to the facial nerve is inevitable. The technique we have developed will solve this problem,” said Nasrulla Shanazarov, Chief Oncologist at the Presidential Hospital.

The unique technique was developed jointly with scientists from Kazan Federal University. The team of authors Valeriy Benberin, Nasrulla Shanazarov and Andrey Avdeyev took part from the Presidential Hospital. In the near future, the Presidential Hospital plans to open a department of maxillofacial surgery, where a new technique will be applied.
