Laparoscopic ureter reimplantation (ureteral transplantation) at Medical Center Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Laparoscopic ureteral reimplantation or laparoscopic uretero-cysto-anastomosis is an operation performed to restore the patency of the ureter when the outflow of urine from the kidney is impaired. The operation is complex and is included in the list of high-tech medical care. Urologists of the Hospital regularly perform such operations.

Lower ureteral stricture is an absolute indication for surgical treatment, the choice of which is determined by the structural and functional state of the ureters and kidneys, the extent and level of stenosis.

“The last case, a young patient, we resected the stricture of the lower ureter and sewed it to the bladder at a pre-designated place, the point is that we thereby restore the upper urinary tract for natural urination”, - Bakhtiyar Kassymov, Chief of the Department No. 4 (urology) said briefly about the course of the operation.
