The Second State Central Hospital was established in 1931 under the name "Activist Hospital" in the "American Terrace" area of the capital, and since then it has continued to develop, formed a team capable of providing quality, affordable and safe medical services at the national level. In 2008 became a hospital that implements the international standards ISO - 9001.

The Second Central Hospital introduces modern and advanced technology to the country to provide trouble-free diagnosis and treatment, convenient for customers, and constantly seeks evidence-based medical advances, and strives to become a major academic and research center.

Since 1991, the Second Central Hospital has expanded its range of services and provides medical care to residents of Bayanzurkh District, 4 Govi Provinces as its main clients, and was named Clinical General Hospital II. In 1999-2000, the hospital upgraded its facilities with the help of a grant from the Japanese government. For example, CT scan analysis was first introduced in Mongolia.
