Medet Rakhmetov, endoscopist of the Presidential Hospital took part in the IRONMAN triathlon

  27.06.2022

On June 25-26, the thirtieth anniversary national triathlon championship was held in Burabay. As part of the championship, participants of the IV stage of the TEMIRADAM Cup entered the race, among which was our colleague, Medet Rakhmetov, a doctor of endoscopy at the Presidential Hospital.

A triathlon is a continuous competition of three sports: swimming, cycling and running. It is one of the most challenging one-day endurance competitions in the world.

In the IV stage of the TEMIRADAM Cup participants had to swim 3.86 km in open water, ride 180.25 km on a bicycle and complete the distance with a marathon of 42.195 km. Medet Rakhmetov passed the whole stage in his age group, showing good results: 3 hours 08 minutes (swimming - 34 minutes, cycling - 1 hour 34 minutes, and running - 1 hour). At the same time, he managed to improve his result by 27 minutes.

- I became interested in marathon running and triathlon two years ago. I like Triathlon for the alternation of the three sports, the variety. At such competitions, the main thing for me is to complete the Ironman distance,” Medet said. - Now I have a new goal - to swim across the Bosporus, a 6.5 km distance between two continents. After all, everything unreal is real.

We wish our colleague success in his work and in sports!
