Effective use of medication. Raushan Karabayeva took part in the 2nd Congress of Clinical Pharmacologists of Kazakhstan

  20.04.2022

Raushan Karabayeva, Deputy Director for Diagnostic and Treatment of the Presidential Hospital, took part in the 2nd Congress of Clinical Pharmacologists of Kazakhstan. She presented two reports, which demonstrated case studies on the safe use of anticoagulants.

“The report analyzed the most common mistakes doctors make when prescribing this unsafe class of medication. International sources on the safety and efficacy of use were shown. My second report was devoted to the treatment of comorbid patients, polypragmasy. The report was also based on our personal experience.” - Raushan Karabayeva, Deputy Director for Diagnostic and Treatment of the Presidential Hospital, shared.

The Presidential Hospital places great emphasis on quality and safe patient care. Since 2021, as part of the JCI international accreditation, a polypragmasy project has begun. The Hospital also trains doctors to adequately prescribe drug therapy in severe comorbid patients who have several diseases.

“This is a worldwide problem, which, unfortunately, is not given enough attention in Kazakhstan. We want to develop this system as a model and then translate to other clinics in the country, to show our experience. In this regard, participation in such conferences, which demonstrate our experience, is very important. We get feedback from colleagues from Kazakhstan and foreign countries. Interaction between leading specialists from different countries helps to improve the quality of medical services.” - Raushan Karabayeva, Deputy Director for Diagnostic and Treatment of the Presidential Hospital, noted.

The Congress of Clinical Pharmacologists of Kazakhstan was held at the Semey Medical UniversityNPJSC. It was attended by scientists from the USA, New Zealand, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
