More than 3000 experts participated in the International Internists’ Congress

The two-day International Internists’ Congress “Quality and Safety of medication therapy: global trends and standards” organized by the Medical Center Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the support of Medical Center of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was completed.

Alexey Tsoy, CEO of Medical Center of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, opened the Congress with a welcoming speech; Azhar Giniyat, Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan welcomed the participants online. The opening ceremony was also attended by Skender Syla, WHO Representative - Head of WHO Country Office in Kazakhstan, Rustam Albayev, Director of Medical Center Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Raushan Karabayeva, Deputy Director for Clinical Care of Medical Center Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Raisa Kuzdenbayeva, President of NGO “Professional Association of Clinical Pharmacologists and Pharmacists”, as well as Massimo Pignatelli, MD, MD, PhD, FRCPath, Vice-president for Medicine, Dean of School of Medicine, Nazarbayev University, Dmitry Sychev, Rector of Russian Medical Academy of Continuing Professional Education, President of the Society of Pharmacogenetics, Pharmacokinetics and Personalized Therapy (RF) and other qualified local and foreign speakers.

About 500 medical specialists, who are not indifferent to the topic of medication safety, gathered on one platform, offline. About 3000 doctors-gastroenterologists, cardiologists, rheumatologists, neurologists, nephrologists, therapists, pulmonologists, clinical pharmacologists and general practitioners-participated in the online broadcast. The outlined topic of the Congress resonated not only with domestic specialists, but also with foreign specialists - from Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Albania and other countries.

Within the framework of the Congress the issues of pharmacotherapy peculiarities were touched upon, practical experience of pharmacological peculiarities of comorbid patients management with various diseases, complex cases with application of innovative solutions in medication therapy, the latest achievements of pharmaceutics, innovative methods of therapeutic treatment were presented.

The Congress was an expert dialog platform to discuss the most contemporary issues of therapy and medication safety and initiated the development of new recommendations for the domestic health care system and for further implementation of the best international practices in everyday medical work.
