Employees of the Healthy Lifestyle Center of the Medical Center Hospital together with a neurologist from the 2nd Primary Health Care Department held an event dedicated to the World Stroke Day at the Ministry of Finance as part of the program on promotion of healthy lifestyle and disease prevention called “Reach Healthy Numbers!” for public sector employees.

The relevance of this event is related to the fact that modern medicine with good reason calls the XXI century as “The era of circulatory system diseases” (CSD). Worldwide, CSDs are “killer #1”, which kills more than 17 million people every year.

Today, one of the CSDs affects every 10th Kazakhstani of working age, and every second death in our country is due to these diseases.
The important thing is that three-quarters of all deaths from CSD can be prevented with proper lifestyle changes!

During the event, Yrysty Sutbayeva, a neurologist gave a presentation on “Primary and secondary prevention of stroke.  Bilious headache”. She answered all questions of listeners.
Gulnar Sakanova, a physician-methodologist of the Healthy Lifestyle Center, shared practical skills on physical activity for the prevention of vascular disease.

Gulnara Turdunova, a doctor-methodologist told about the main risk factor for CSD in her presentation “Nutrition as a CSD controllable factor”.

All those present were given information material in the form of booklets, leaflets: “What you need to know about stroke”, “Nutrition - CSD controllable factor”, “Facts about smoking”, “Sedentary lifestyle”, “What is important to know about salt intake” and others.
