Smart city. Nuclear medicine

One of the innovative directions of world’s medical practice is nuclear medicine. In Medical Centre Hospital of PAA of the RK was created laboratory, where chemist-technologist, physics and pharmacists synthesize special radioactive agents for conduction of highly accurate researches of human organism. In the Nuclear department, there are two agents: single emission computer tomography and positron emission tomography.

This equipment allows detecting heart diseases, nervous system and other vitally important organs. Positron emission tomography (PET) can detect cancerous mass or metastasis whereas other methods of research cannot detect. Doctors can find growths of 3-4 mm only and immediately start secondary course of chemotherapy or urgent operation.
